| About |
This Silent Earth takes in many influences. They have been described as AFI and Thrice meets Atreyu with a twist of Alice in Chains. Great singing mixed with dual screaming and deep lyrics. Technical Lead guitar with solos and a pulsing rhythm section.
This Silent Earth was founded by friends Jeremy (guitar/vocals) and Paul(bass). They started a band because they loved music and wanted to make music their career path. There longtime friend Brandon was added to the squad several months later as a rythm guitarist. After auditioning a few drummers they found Brandons friend Luke. The Band Was Complete. After much debate, they settled on "This Silent Earth." The name deals as a contrast to their heavier style of music but also serves as a way to say that the world is too quite. Nobody speaks up and what better way to be heard than in a band.
In February of 2004 the band went into The Hive recording studios and under the guidance of Stuart McKillop they emerged with their first EP entitled "Negative Space". The album contains pulsing rhtym and blistering lead guitar performance by Jeremy. The band has come to be not just a band but great friends. The band sticks together trough thick and thin and have become stronger.
Later this Summer they plan to back into the studio to independantly record their full length album currently titled "A Tale of Tragedy." All the members have improved as musicians and are taking in alot of new genres of music. If you love Heavy Rock with some mellower hooks and some great solos, This Silent Earth is the Choice
O and did we mention that the average age of the band is only 16? Dont be fooled by their young age, these guys are here to play. |
